Brandon Peri, BSc | Research Assistant

Brandon holds a BSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Physiology from University College Utrecht, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honours in 2023. During his studies, Brandon first worked with Pieter Roelfsema at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN), where he investigated acetylcholine dynamics in V1 during visual learning. He then went on to work with the lab of Matteo Carandini & Kenneth Harris at UCL, where he helped develop a Deep Learning-based analysis pipeline for the classification of behavioural motifs in rodents. For his undergraduate thesis, Brandon returned to the NIN to work with Alexander Heimel’s group. There, he used high-density electrophysiology and optogenetics to study inhibitory microcircuits in the mouse superficial superior colliculus.

Brandon joined the Keshavarzi Lab as a Research Assistant in September 2023. As one of the lab's first members, he will assist in building bespoke experimental setups for rodent behaviour and electrophysiology, as well as developing software for data acquisition and analysis.
